Never buy a centex home. Its cheap and has lots of problems. They planted a Maple in front of my house and its lifting my sidewalk which was poured without any stone base and now all the cement everywhere is sinking. The roots are headed toward my basement and my association wont let me remove the tree. They want me to pour all new cement with the proper under layment of stones. Everything they used in this house started to fall apart about a year after the build and thats all you get it is a year warranty. The windows leak, the basement leaks and there in hardly any insulation in the attic. DO NOT BUY!!!!! ... more

Average is between $250 and $300 a square foot. If it is a fixer up, could be as low as $175, and for luxury properties, up to $700.

Under the BROWSE pull down at the top of this screen you will see Find An Agent.

Enter Bonita Springs and CALL the agent that appeals to you.

Present your mother/daughter question to the agent and they can advise you regarding the current market and the potential of your requirements being met.

Using the 'contact' link or a Q & A session is not the most reliable way to get specific real estate guidance.

Hi Tammy,

They typically pay 3% for a Buyers agent in a new development. Some pay 4-5% its according to the builder. If you are interested in new construction give me a call. I have a great program for buyers of new homes. We offer piece of mind that the house is watched during the build process.

Its always nice to hear younger people coming to the area! When you say "park model" I'd first like to clarify that you mean a mobile home..? It is a little selective in this arena for your age but there may also be some other options that aren't necessarily mobile homes that may fit your budget. Either way I would also be happy to assist you if you haven't already begun working with a REALTOR.

Jim Barbour answered:
For buyers at the marginal end in today's housing market, I suggest going over your desires and requirements with a fine tooth comb. Compromise is the name of the game, even for buyers in the mid-range of the market. Perhaps you want three bedrooms, but really only need two, and having a third bedroom for occasional guests ups the price significantly. You need to separate your requirements into "must-have" and "would be nice to have". Perhaps you have children and want a specific school district-that would be a must-have, on the other hand, high-end cabinets and countertops can always be added later-that's a would be nice to have feature.
I work with many first-time buyers and those shopping for the most affordable homes. In most all situations, paring down your requirements greatly increases your chances for finding a home that will fit your budget.
