I believe in two great areas to live/shop: Lincoln Square (around Lincoln Center) and the Financial District (It's unbelievable how this area has been transformed the last few years!)
Lincoln Square is right where the Upper West Side starts and among many stores on Broadway going uptown and the 9th Avenue corridor of restaurants going downtown is a good option to live in!

NYC doesn't have MLS, OLR, NY Times is your best choice if you're looking to sell on your own. Please be prepared for the tons of calls from brokers that will call regardless if you indicate no broker calls. Secondly it's going to take you longer in a good market to sell on your own. In this climate it's going to really take you long so be prepared for that. Between your open houses, the window shoppers, the brokers calling for your listing, the brokers visiting your open house for listings, the low ball offers, the buyers that don't qualify after reviewing their financials you might get lucky and sell it. Don't over price your apartment because it will become invisible and then no one will take you seriously regardless if you're "saving money" because you don't have to pay a fee so you're going to put that in the price, please don't do that. If you're having trouble, feel free to contact me down the road, keep the faith!!!!... more
