Your only bet is to get with a broker one month or so before you need it. Be ready with all paperwork and ready to make a decision. The rental market is tough and expensive. You have to have your ducks in a row beofre you even go out to view. Any broker with experience will make sure you're ready to pounce once you find what you seek. Don't waste your time. If somebody is advertising a real property in foreclosure they put all the information including the full address and auction time.... more
In my opinion. the reason that the apartment is still listed is because it is not real. If it were real, it wouldnt stay on the market for more than a "New York" minute at that price . People may have already tried to view this apartment, and received a suspicious email asking to wire a 500 dollar deposit.
Basically in a market where the median price of a studio is 2300 dollars there is no such thing as a true 1 bedroom apartment for 1400 dollars. Think about it!! If you can barely find a studio for under 2000 dollars how are you going to be able to find a true 1 bedroom apartment for 1400 dollars.?
There is a lot of wishful thinking out there and a lot of people willing to believe what they want to, so scammers will always try to scam . Thats the whole point behind using an agent,(as well as getting much needed help in finding apartments.in New York City)... more
Hi Sean. If you are trying to ask brokers to give you the owners contact info, that simply won't happen. In any case this is on Sublet.com and there is a reference number for it. You're going to have to do this on your own if you don't want to pay a comission. Good luck.... more
